Mariah Carey is set to bring holiday magic to Las Vegas with a new residency, "Christmastime in Las Vegas," at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The residency will feature 10 performances, running from Nov. 28 through Dec. 13.
Tickets will be available through a presale event from Sept. 17 to 19, with general public sales opening Sept. 20 via Ticketmaster. Fans have already turned to social media to express their enthusiasm for the shows, with some encouraging Carey to add more dates in New York and other cities abroad.
This holiday residency is different from Carey's previous holiday tours because it offers a special, intimate run of shows in one venue. The ticket price to the concert will include a $1 donation to The Fresh Air Fund's Camp Mariah, which will continue the hidden tradition of the summer programs for children that Carey has supported through charitable work in the past two decades.
Dolby Live will feature Dolby Atmos technology to create an immersive audio experience, enhancing Carey's renowned vocal performances. Situated in Park MGM, the venue allows fans the convenience of several hotels and travel deals nearby.
The news arrives at a time when Carey continues to be the queen of holiday music. Last holiday season, her classic song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” hit number 1 for the sixth year in a row, still producing millions of dollars in revenue and cultural relevance.
She has been teasing new music as well, and she also recently won the MTV Video Vanguard Award for her career accomplishments. "Thank you so much for MTV for giving me the Vanguard Award. I can't believe I'm getting my first VMA tonight," she said on stage at UBS Arena in New York during the ceremony. "I just have one question: What in the Sam Hill were you waiting for? I'm kidding. I love you."
