United Way of Southern Nevada will host its 10th annual Day of Caring on Sept. 19, marking a decade of bringing volunteers, nonprofit organizations, and community partners together for the region's largest volunteer event. The initiative connects volunteers with local nonprofits in need of extra support, fostering stronger community engagement and lasting change throughout Southern Nevada.
The event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with a volunteer rally at The Park at Town Square Las Vegas, located at 6671 Las Vegas Blvd. South. From there, participants will spread out across the community to take part in service projects that address local needs.
“For ten years, Day of Caring has reminded us what's possible when we stand together,” said Samuel Rudd, President and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada. “Volunteers, community partners, and generous sponsors come together each year to create lasting change for our neighbors. United is the way we strengthen Southern Nevada — one act of service at a time.”
Channel 13 will be on-site to support and promote the event, highlighting the efforts of volunteers and nonprofits working together to make an impact.
“As a long-time supporter and board member, I know first-hand the positive and powerful difference that United Way makes in our community. That's why PNC is so proud to sponsor the Day of Caring,” said Denette Suddeth, PNC regional president for Nevada. “This event is a great way to get involved in helping to make Southern Nevada an even better place to live.”
Registration is now open for individuals and groups interested in volunteering. Participants can sign up or explore volunteer opportunities by visiting uwsn.org.
